Retrofit projects for one of the biggest Shipyards in Europe
Project description:
In 2015 Nedcon Maritime Manpower Supply has developed a new team of specialists dealing with numerous exhaust gas scrubber retrofit projects in one of the biggest Shipyards in Europe.
The integrated management for the departure of over 100 employees may look difficult but it is in fact nothing more than an interconnected system based on the capacity of finding the best management solutions for all the process activities and achieving the client’s goals by providing the best workforce in the shortest time, at the best cost and using minimum of resources.
Scope of work:
Our team of specialists involved in this project was composed of highly-experienced Mechanical Fitters, Pipefitters, Steelworkers and Coded Welders, a very strong and competitive team who significantly contributed to the success of each retrofit, undergoing very complex works on the funnel structures, deck platforms and ladders and exhaust gas pipes.
Results:
The projects have been undertaken on 5 vessels, and each of them was concluded rapidly and efficiently.
Client feedback:
All the projects have been concluded in an efficient and timely manner, at best costs. This type of project is of great importance for worldwide shipowners due to the reducing of the Sulphur emissions from ship engines, generators and boilers, enabling vessels to comply with the Sulphur emission limits required by IMO MARPOL regulations without the need to change to low-Sulphur fuel. Ships can continue to burn heavy fuel, a much cost effective and easy to source solution.
